New Doors

Doors...Need to walk through doors. Thankfully these are centered and new and pretty. Glad I'm walking through these, and not the ones that came with the place.

New Cement

After digging out some of the basement floor, with some help...thanks Brooks, I had new cement poured for what will be the laundry room 'area.' Of course no child can walk by wet cement without the thought of sketching some in it to immortalize you. Not that many children now what immortalize means, but then again I'm not a child...more like I can easily act like one at times.

Long story short, I couldn't resist. Made sure Bella got her's as well, I would have preferred a paw print but not so certain she would have.

Repointing The Stone

Ah...the exterior stone work has been 'let go' or poorly repaired over the years. The chimney has some necessary structural work, there are some areas that attempted to be fixed but weren't done well, and again some places in the back of the house that needed securing as well. So now almost everything will be ground out and repointed.

The Demo Work

Most of the demo work was done last weekend. The clean up crew spent fours days taking all the stuff we ripped of the walls out of here. It was fun. Spent a good 8 hours tearing stuff apart, talk about a good stress reliever.

Right now, most of the work is done as time allows and without the help of contractors. Tearing out all the plaster, and lath, and whatever else we could get our hands on was really the main goal.

Besides my mom and dad, Ryan and Rich and have really helped out a lot with my baby. Thank you so much, you have no idea how much I appreciate your help, I couldn't have done it without you.

Have had a few other workers in there breaking some things down as well. Most of the walls and ceilings are now nothing but studs, but it helps to see the big picture. Get rid of what I don't need and keep only the necessities.

I've also had a few visitors to check the place out...James, Laura, Ann, Erica, Mandi, Tim, and Alicia, thanks for dropping in, you've seen it from the beginning and will love it in the end.

To Keep The Plaster, Or To Not Keep The Plaster...

That is the question.

The answer...Don't keep the plaster, but then again, I haven't been keeping much.

The dining room has stone walls. Would love to re point the stone but the stone it's exactly looking like it's up for that kind of responsibility.

The second floor looks so open now! This will be a nice little hallway.

Madame Bedroom, I see the potential, the potential for you and me.

Why is the pink bathroom still here?!?!?!?!?
