The Old Roof

Slate...I love the look of slate, in fact I'd love to have a slate floor in my kitchen, it's beautiful. When I found out the slate roof needed to say, 'Adios' I was a tad bit bummed. Here it is one more time. Perhaps I should have saved the slate roof for the kitchen floor...too late now.

Curb Appeal

That show on HGTV is for real. The inside of your house can look like a million bucks, but if the outside looks like poo, well then everyone thinks your house looks like poo. Well there's no poo here, in fact with all the stone re-pointed, the chimney rebuilt, new doors and windows, we only have the roof and some landscaping left.

So much to show...

I've been slack on posting the updates of the house, but not on documenting the progress. It's amazing the differences already. It felt like I was under dust for so long, and now, it's all coming together, and it looks like a house on the inside again. Tomorrow I start to paint the rooms with colors other than white!

New Doors

Doors...Need to walk through doors. Thankfully these are centered and new and pretty. Glad I'm walking through these, and not the ones that came with the place.

New Cement

After digging out some of the basement floor, with some help...thanks Brooks, I had new cement poured for what will be the laundry room 'area.' Of course no child can walk by wet cement without the thought of sketching some in it to immortalize you. Not that many children now what immortalize means, but then again I'm not a child...more like I can easily act like one at times.

Long story short, I couldn't resist. Made sure Bella got her's as well, I would have preferred a paw print but not so certain she would have.

Repointing The Stone

Ah...the exterior stone work has been 'let go' or poorly repaired over the years. The chimney has some necessary structural work, there are some areas that attempted to be fixed but weren't done well, and again some places in the back of the house that needed securing as well. So now almost everything will be ground out and repointed.
